やぁ古き友、闇よ。

I’ve come to talk with you again

君と話がしたくて、また来てしまった。

※have come（過去分詞）の現在完了形

Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping

実は、ある光景がぼんやり近づき、寝てる間にその種を残していったんだ。

※becauseは”なぜなら”だけど、しっくりこない
※a visionをどう訳すか難しい・・・
※its seeds = その（ある光景の）種

And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

そして私の頭に根付いたその光景は、沈黙の世界の中に今もまだ残っている。

※韻を踏むためheadではなくbrainにしたのかな？

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone

落ち着くことの無い夢の中、石畳の狭い道を私は独り歩いた。

‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

街灯の光の輪の下、雨と寒さに襟を立てた。

※’Neath = beneath（～の下）
※turn one’s collar upのupは省略？

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

ネオンの光が私の両目に突き刺ささった時、それ（光）は夜を切り裂き、沈黙の世界に触れた。

※後に続かせるため主語を入れ替えた

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more

そのむき出しの光の中で、私は1万人、いやそれ以上の人々を見た。

People talking without speaking

人々は、声を出さずに会話している。

※talkはコミュニケーションを取ること。
※speakは声を出すこと。

People hearing without listening

人々は、聞こうとせずに聴いている。

※listenは自ら耳を傾けること。
※hearは自然に耳に入ってくること。

People writing songs that voices never share

人々は、誰にも唄われることのない歌を書いている。

※”歌”の漢字を二つ書きたくないので一つを”唄”にした

No one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

誰もあえて、その沈黙の世界を崩さなかった。

※dare to disturbのtoは多分省略

“Fools” said I, “You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you”

「愚かな！」と私は言い、
「沈黙が癌のようにはびこることを君は知らない。
私が教えることを聞きなさい。
私が差し出す手を掴みなさい。」と続けた。

※mightの直訳は”〜かもしれない”だけどピンとこない・・

But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence

しかし、私の言葉は、音のない雨粒のように落ちていき、沈黙の井戸の中で鳴り響いた。

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made

そして人々は、彼らの創造したネオンの神に頭を下げ祈った。

And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming

すると、神のお告げが光り輝きながら現れ、形作られた文字で戒めを発した。

※むずかしい！！

And the sign said, “The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls”

お告げはこう伝えた「預言者の言葉は地下鉄の壁や安アパートの廊下に記されている」。

And whispered in the sounds of silence

そして沈黙の世界でささやいた。
